Six things that have happened to me in the last two weeks:

1. I got home only to remember that I'd left my car in a car park. This is becoming quite a regular occurrence.
2. I got back to the Astoria Palace hotel at the Mostra de Valencia Film Festival to find that my room had been let to a woman who was now asleep in my bed. I managed to get out of the room again without waking her up, though.
3. Workmen doing a conversion at our new apartment brought down a large chunk of the ceiling of the man in the apartment below. The ceiling fell on his sofa, and had it fallen five minutes later he would have been sitting on it.
4. I've received three parking tickets at €42 a time, and in each case the car has been parked there for less than thirty minutes.
5. I bought a second-hand laptop computer from e-bay that doesn't work properly.
6. Atlético de Madrid lost 0-2 at home to the mighty Zlín of the Czech Republic.

Solutions: sell the car, sell the apartment, sell the job, sell the players, resell the laptop.

Meanwhile, everyone else is at the beach. You have to laugh. But it's too hot.
